:Things To Ponder:

First, speeling afd grammer is impootaint. Waftch were yor keeys r and try nott to use any slang dawgs. ((ROFL, to give an example.))

Second off, there are a few terms you should know, all in which I shall give very good examples.

1-- Out of Character (OOC)
This is when you are not speaking in a Role Playing format.
(EX) ((OOC: ROFL, this is a also a great time to make cupcakes!))

Always remember to put ((<<THIS>>)) around your OOC comments, so people can tell when you are talking as your character, and when you are not.

2--Back in Character (BIC/IC)
This is when you decide to go back into Role Playing format.
(EX) ((BIC)) Captain Rose beamed, and smiled to the viewers of said Topic.
"Aye, I told you, this is an example, which you lubbers should follow."

See? It's really not that hard. Again, remember to put ((<<THIS>>)) around the BIC, and press enter to seperate the collums. Otherwise, people might react in the following way:

When RPing, *Put your actions in aterisks* and "What you say in quotations"

SPAMMING

Dictionary wrote:
Spamming (v.) Modern English- To make many posts about things off topic, or to talk to one specific person about something others do not wish to hear in a public topic.

This is a little more complicated, and there are a lot of examples. Here is one, using Morpheus.

Quote:
((OOC: Hey Pinky, do you want to get a buger after we post this?

Quote:
((OOC: Sure thing.))

See, even though we put the OOC markings, talking out of conversation that is not in Private Messaging is called SPAMMING.

Spamming, type 2.

Now, there's a second sort of Spam, which is where people go off and post on subjects to boost their posts. THAT IS NOT OKAY! Here is an example....because I am the number one spammer on a different forum site.....

Quote:
I was thinking about adding new Mods to the site, you know? Just to help things move along?

Quote:
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing man.

Now, I might have meant to say that for the purpose, (I did, seriously,) but it looked like I was posting JUST to be posting. Savvy?

Picture Rules

Nothing Gigantically HUGE, please. People don't want to keep scrolling over nine thousand HUGE pictures of anything. ((Nope, not even Jack Sparrow.)) It's sorta annoying for those who like to post in a hurry.
Keep in small, kay? Something around 100x100 to 300x300 should be the limit to how big your picture is. For one-time posts however, you can use a big picture. (EX: For a ship, Captains can use big pictures. Or anyone can use a big picture for a character, or a weapon.)

NO OBSENE PICTURES.
oooh, If any of us even have a whiff of dirty pictures, we'll have you off to the gallows!!! SERIOUSLY!

Signatures, profiles, and websites, oh my![

Signatures---
Now, the signature is something that appears at the bottom of every post you make. Most people put their statures, and other important titles, while others put pictures and icons. It doesn't matter what you put down, as long as it is TRUE. (EX: I cannot say I am a Flying Dutchman Crew Member, First Mate That, my friends, is a big, fat, no-go. Do try to post the truth on these.)

Profiles--
Fill in the information as needed. Now, it's NOT REQUIRED, but people do get to know you a little more.

Websites---
If you have a site you would like to promote, one good tactic is to post the link in your "Website" area of the profile. You can also put Facebook, IMVU, Gaia, and Myspace links on there as well. ((DO try and check the link before you post it though, or else it could lead the person viewing it into some sort of "lost in the woods" sort of deal.))

CHARACTER COUNTS
(that thing is annoying, but whatever.)

First off, try and talk like a pirate. Here's a fantastic video showing exactly how it's done.

Rules for Pirates

-If you are not an owner of a ship, than it is obvious that you are not a Captain, therefore you must either have a captain and serve on a ship, or you are one seriously bad pirate. ((Not in the good manner of it loves.))

You can either serve on one of the World's Owner's Ships, or, if a Moderator is nice enough, and happens to own a ship, they can let you aboard. Remember that each ship only has 50 crew members, which include doctors, ship hands, repairmen, foremen, helmsmen, lookouts, cooks, cabin boys, second mates, and first mates. There are also those who work above deck (sailing the ship,) and those who work below deck. (Firing cannons.) The foremen shout out the Captain's orders to the rest of the crew, the Helmsman is the person steering the ship, and the lookout is obviously in the Crow's Nest. ((Guys, without these dudes and the cook and doctor, you're totally screwed. It's not MANDATORY.....but it's smarter to have them than not.))

You can speak pirate tongue, which includes "Ayes" "Args" "Avasts" and "Yo ho hoes". This includes old school texture ((Which is what yours truly uses.)) (EX: "Tis good to see the morn up again, aye mate?")

Each ship/crew has its own flag. They are original, and nobody's flag can be used on another ship. If you can't find an original pirate flag, get off your rear and MAKE one! ((Silly.))

Guys, seriously. You can't just randomly switch off from pirate to soldier, that's not a good thing. ONE: you'll confuse everyone. TWO: you'll have to fix your character profile, we'll have to RE-approve it, and WE WILL BE PISSED!
Now, it does work the other way around. You can be a Soldier or Navy Officer and become a pirate, but you'd BETTER have a VERY good reason. (i.e: Captured by pirates and/or Davy Jones)
We won't be too happy about the new people and THEIR constant mistakes, ((no offense)) but when the OLDER people do something annoying like that, it really sets us off. It's a lot of stress putting up a site like this. Seriously.

IF you are a Soldier---

--If I'm right, there is at least ONE Royal Port in/near each world/territory. That means (I think,) that there should be at least one Commodore for each Port, and one Royal Ship for Sailors to Enlist onto. You have just as many posting places as the pirates; so CHILLAX.
